The Association for Development of Mongolian women in Europe (ADMWE) was nominated Ms Garamjav Tseden Vice Minister, MMRE, and Founder and General Director of Monpolyment for The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)’s Women in Business award.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) invites leading businesswomen to meet each year at the EBRD’s Annual Meeting to share their experiences. The Women in Business panel is composed of high profile women from EBRD’s countries of operations and donor countries.
At the Annual Meeting, the EBRD recognizes women in business through the annual Women in Business Awards that have been held since 2005. This year the Women in Business award ceremony was held on 18th May 2012 in London UK. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)’s Women in Business award for the outstanding achievement in Industry went to Ms Garamjav Tseden, a leading enterprise in the Mongolian mining sector.
Ms Garamjav Tseden, a qualified geological engineer established Monpolymet, a leading national enterprise in Mongolia in 1992 with a primary focus on mining. Today the company has expanded into four sister companies in construction, mineral exploration, and rehabilitation and construction material production sectors with over 500 employees. Ms Garamjav Tseden has been working for the mining industry for 29 years and has implemented numerous profitable projects. She values her company’s success in becoming the “Best Rehabilitating Entity” award which the company received seven times in a row from the Mongolian government. She continues to look for ways to improve the overall business standards and sustainable development in the mining sector.
