A part of the Mongolian Women in Business-2013 event was held in London, 3rd – 5th April 2013. The “Raising Capital in Global Financial Markets for Mongolian Women in Mining Accountancy “ study visit programme was initiated by Ms Enkhe Enkhjargal Danzanbaljir, Chief Representative of the London Office of Bank of Mongolia. The event was jointly organised by the Association for the development of Mongolian Women in Europe (ADMWE), Mongolian Accounting Institute, Association of Mongolian ACCA students and Affiliates are in cooperation with the Standard Chartered Bank international banking group, EBRD the largest investor bank, PwC Accountancy firm, Rio Tinto Group – a British Australian multinational metals and mining corporation, London Stock Exchange, London Metal Exchange and Clyde & Co leading international law firm.
The purpose of this study visit was to empower women and promote business network, to train accountants, the majority of accountants in Mongolia being females, and to help to improve capacity building in the mining accountancy, to contribute in terms of achieving more transparent mining in Mongolia which is very crucial for the current Mongolian economic development to avoid corruption and resource curse.
A total of 13 participants attended from Mongolia, a number of Mongolian student studying accountancy in the UK was given the opportunity by ADMWE to attend the event, in order to gain professional experience visiting the world’s leading international financial and legal institutes.
In the future, ADMWE will organise this study programme to be arranged twice a year.
Our next event is on 1st of June 2013 we will be hosting our annual Mongolian Women of the year award ceremony to celebrate the achievements of Mongolian women in Europe.
