“Path to a Healthy Future” Fundraising Event was organised by the Association for the Development of Mongolian Women in Europe(ADMWE) and Rio Tinto Plc on Wednesday 20th June 2012 at Rio Tinto’s London headquarters.

This is ADMWE’s second fund raising event, however this is our very first event that has been jointly hosted by the world’s leading mining company, Rio Tinto, which is also one of the biggest investors in Mongolia.

The aim of this auction was to raise funds to help the vaccination of Mongolian girls aged between 10-14 years old against cervical cancer.

The auction was started by our host Mrs Anne Stevens Vice President for People & Organisation, Copper, Rio Tinto Plc then followed by a welcoming speech by Enke Enkhjargal Danzanbaljir President and Co-Founder of the Association for the Development of Mongolian Women in Europe. Also we have received  a message from the Mongolian Prime Minister Mr S.Batbold, who sent a greeting to support the our charity event.

The among items sold at the auction were a various Mongolian small accessories such as leather goods, luxurious cashmere bed spread, copper insoles, felt scarf, and artworks by Mongolian artists. The highlight of our auction was His Royal Highness The Prince Of Wales’ personal donation of one of his signed Lithographs of his  watercolours entitled ”The Southfront, Highgrove House” and his personal letter from Clarence House.  The entertainer for the evening  was Guinness World Record Holder and Britain’s Got Talent Finalist contortionist Ms Iona.

The proceeds from this auction will be spent on to fund the vaccinations of Mongolian girls.
