Women’s leadership for accelerating the net-zero transition and enhancing climate action by leveraging AI

Mongolia, with its vast arid landscapes and nomadic culture, faces severe environmental challenges, including desertification and droughts. These issues threaten food security, economic stability, and cultural heritage, particularly affecting rural communities and traditional lifestyles. Mongolia’s ongoing efforts in extensive reforestation, sustainable rangeland management, and proactive climate adaptation reflect the nation's profound commitment to environmental stewardship, resilience building, and sustainable livelihoods. On February 21, 2025 the Government of Mongolia and the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) signed an agreement paving the way for the 17th session of the Convention’s Conference of the Parties (COP17) in Ulaanbaatar in 2026. COP17 will bring together UNCCD’s 197 Parties in a crucial global forum to accelerate action against desertification, land degradation and drought. As one of the most affected countries by desertification, with nearly 77 per cent of its land degraded, Mongolia will leverage COP17 to drive solutions for land restoration, sustainable land management and resilience-building across the world. COP17, set for 2026 during the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists (IYRP)-declared by the United Nations General Assembly and championed by Mongolia — will build on efforts to promote the sustainable management, restoration and conservation of rangelands.

Therefore, to contribute to COP 17, “Global Mongolian Women Together” non-profit organization in cooperation with the Embassy of Mongolia in the United Kingdom and Ireland, the Rangeland Stewardship Council (RSC)and the Association for the Development of Mongolian Women in Europe (ADMWE) is going to organize a business forum on “Women’s leadership for accelerating the net-zero transition and enhancing climate action by leveraging AI” on Sunday, 16 May 2026, at Clontarf Castle Hotel Castle Avenue, Clontarf, Dublin 3, Ireland, D03 W5N0

The International Forum will highlight the importance of empowering women in addressing climate change and achieving a net zero future, while also recognizing cultural heritage as Earth stewards. This event aims to bring together policymakers, scientists, civil society representatives, indigenous communities, and private sector stakeholders in an inclusive environment conducive to innovation, learning, and collaborative problem-solving.  Since the forum intends to discuss the implementation of the net zero programs and combating climate change, strengthening the innovation ecosystem, the organizers wish to welcome the Irish and Mongolian business people, as well as representatives of the European Union and other countries working in the green-tech-economy to join in consultations and discussions on gender equality in environmental initiatives and the importance of women's leadership in the transition to a net zero future, while recognizing and preserving cultural heritage as Earth stewards.
